Love those Minis!

The other day I twittered that I had just watched the "Love those Minis! The Fashionable Soldiers" episode and felt kind of inspired by the "Sailor Moon inspired" designer dress. HA!! INSPIRED by a SM INSPIRED thing. Weird.

Anyway. I REALLY REALLY felt like vectorizing this but once it was finished, I had no idea what to do with it, so it became a rather UNinspired wallpaper. This WP is on the "okay-ish" side, but it was never planned for anything else other than my own enjoyment, but here it is for everyone!!




Finished it rather quickly. Oo...!!!

Super Twins is a story about twins who has some magical powers from some kind of a ring. Two little girls will be transforming into the characters of Jen and Nads. The trailer that was shown, shows that the uniforms are a lot similar to SailorMoon. But the costumes are now different to what was seen through the teaser. The one underneath is now the official costumes of the twins.

This is a Filipino show that aired in 2007 and apparently had a modest amount of success. I will omit my opinion as I have not seen the show and have no right to judge it. However, I would like to share this memorable quote posted in a related site:

FINALLY!!!!!!! Wow, this drawing made me bleed, cry, and sweat, and I'm sure there are still PLENTY of mistakes, but here he finally is: THE SAILOR MOON OBSESSION BLOG SECOND ANNIVERSARY "TUXEDO MASK" CONMEMORATIVE DRAWING!!

Sailor Moon in High Def is #1!!!

Okay this tittle can be misleading.

"High Definition" is a show here where the host Álvaro Cueva offers knowledgable critiques on both national and international television content and in this episode he made a poll via e-mail, and OF COURSE, our beloved SM is in first place.

It's incredible. In his countdown we have some of the strongest names in anime: FullMetal Alchemist, Naruto, Bleach, Death Note and after SO MANY YEARS, SM beat all of these contenders by a HUGE margin.




Sailor Moon is around the 7:00 min mark.
I will translate the comments on this episode that concern SM.

"So, who won? Who is in first place? Which is the best Japanese Animation according to "High Definition"'s audience? Who is missing around here? You are the expert, please tell us. SAILOR MOON. Check this out: *anime clip* Congratulations to the hundreds of spectators that placed Sailor Moon in the first place of our list! Such a huge success! So impressive!
Astrid says that in Sailor Moon we find elements of friendship, courage, love, that everyday is a new adventure and -pay extra attention to this- WOMEN take a very IMPORTANT role, no "damsel in distress because you're stupid", no no no, this is very different. Also Luisa says Sailor Moon is her favorite because she is romantic, cute, gives important lessons every episode."

How is this possible? I mean, not in a bad way, it's just so weird that the anime finished here in 1998, and we've had no re-runs since then but it's still positioned in the first place, even within the younger audiences that now have easier access to incredible contemporary anime!

Whatever the case, this program is fairly new, only a month old. HOPEFULLY, after watching this show, TV producers will consider re-airing it here too, now that the rights have been released. The rights have been released... RIGHTS RELEASED!!! I don't get tired of saying that!!! XDDD!!! The rights have been released!!

About SMObss and the News.

Hey Moonfreaks!!! - This is only a commentary post.

As you may have read on the web, NaokoTakeuchi/Toei have finally had the rights to Sailor Moon released and is now being re-broadcast in Japan and soon in Italy. It seems that this is an awakening to a new chapter of fandom that may lead to other things.

But in case you guys are wondering why I am not formally posting any of these news, well, there are several reasons:

-First of all, time. I hate to sound snobby and say "Ohh I don't have time for Moonie stuff" 'cause you guys know that's not exactly right. I post every 4 to 5 days and even though they may be short entries, they all require some time to be thought out, linked properly and have some content. But I invest my Moonie time doing other stuff (aka. working on fanart, editing videos, looking at what other Moonies are doing and Ebaying).


-Another reason is that I stopped studying Japanese A LONG time ago (like 2002) so I have forgotten about 60% of the little I could have learned, so since news comes from Japan or in Japanese, well, I'm pretty much screwed. I'm sure that if I invest more time looking for news in English, I would find it but this brings me to point three.


-As many of you know, I am a huge Twilight franchise fan, which means I spend the other half of my "off duty" time reading and immersing my self in the Twilight world. I read a LOT of blogs, but I really really hate it when they post the same news in different sites and then just add random comments. Fortunately for us, we have Brad from Moonkitty reporting to us LIVE from Tokyo and we get all his findings first hand from the Moonie Land (ohh cool, that rhymes!!) and we also have SailorDees and the rest of the team at MoonChase that still impresses me with their ability to keep track of ALL the people involved with SM, in depth looks and incredible interviews from all over. So you see my point? We already have MK and MC reporting different kinds of news, I myself get my news from their sites, so any posting of the news HERE would be both a rip off and a repetitive source of info. If I happen to get my hands on some news that are both relevant and... well NEW,I will be sure to post about it.

-And finally, in the ABOUT section I mention the purpose of the SMObss, this blog is an outlet for my Moonie obsessions, I sometimes just need to let it out and ppl around me get tired of listening to my rambling because it's not of interest to them. So I am actually thankful that the SMObss has visitors and commenters whatsoever, I never thought someone would want to read all of my nonsense. xDDD!! So again, the SMObss is not necessarily a news site, so I honestly apologize if visitors come to the blog expecting to find news. I'm just too slow to keep up with them. I try though.

SM Cola. Volume 6 - Unrelated Purtyness

As usual, the SMCola to talk about very random stuff that aren't necessarily about SM, just kind of sorta related....like... in my head.... like.... Moonish----ish.... You get the idea.

So, the other day I went into a home decor store at a mall. Now, this artist is pretty known to me 'cause I grew up in a house filled with his stuff, (mom's a fan) but I had never actually gone INSIDE one of his stores. Pretty awesome!!! But I couldn't stop getting Moonie flashbacks... the style is so soft, glowy, kind of surreal, can we hear a "Moonkindom-ish" ?!? Dunno. Maybe not, maybe it's just me, but one thing is for sure: LOTS OF MOONS, STARS and BUTTERFLIES!!!!! YAYYYY!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's not SM realted... like... AT ALL... but that's why it's in the SM Cola, plus, I'm sure only Moonies would get my point of view on this, I'm sure no random person down the street would relate an interior designer with Sailor Moon. xD!!

Pretty, right?? REALLY Pretty.


The store is Millenio and the artist is an architect named Carlos de Anda, who coincidentally has studied in Tokyo... ohh wait!!!! Maybe that's where he got some "inspiration" .....hmmmm....
