SM Cola. Volume 6 - Sailor Moon in Fashion (not really)

Time for some randomness!!!!!!


It's no secret to the frequent SMObss reader that I see Sailor Moon in absolutely EVERY-LITTLE-THING around this planet, even if there is no relation whatsoever, I WILL FIND the relationship somehow... XD!! That's why today's post is in the Cola -- anything RANDOM.

So all these pics really have no relation to Sailor Moon, but it's just a small collection of images I've found around the web that for some reason or another, remind me of elements of the clothing, style or color in either the anime or manga.  I'm sure there are PLENTY of other examples out there, but these pics were just hanging out in my laptop so I decided to put them to good use.

First we have, the one and only Lady Gaga. Love her or hate her, that's not important, the important is that: OMG!!!!! Her sleeve totally looks like a senshi uniform sleeve!!

If you are more into the "super" upgraded uniforms, here we have my beloved Little Boots! This singer might not be really famous, but she's in my top 20 artists, I really enjoy her music and is one my main inspirations right now, but wait......she is wearing a super senshi sleeve too!!! XD!!!!

Ohh and back when I was looking for Serenity look-alike wedding dresses I came across this cute flower girl dress, but isn't it TOTALLY like PGSM's version of the Serenity drees!? Flower Girl Serenity. xD!

And look at this image, a fashion photo that reminded me of the clothes worn by the Dead Circus Lemures. And don't get me started on the awkward nipple cover thingie. AND DON'T EVEN PRETEND that you haven't noticed them in the anime!!! DON'T LIEEE!!! We have AAAALLLLLLL seen those awkward nipple covers on a few monsters throughout the series, sometimes I wasn't sure if my 12 year old niece should be watching it but then I thought WELL, WHAT THE HELL!! 6 year olds in Japan can handle it just fine!... Just awkward when her mom walked in and asked about it...xD!

SPACE BALLS!!!! Did any of you see this Star Wars parody movie?? It was produced back when parodies were still good (and not all sucky like the "Another __________Movie"  kind of movies) but, YUP! You guessed it!! Dot, the robot has Serenity sleeves!!!

Moving on. There is this really really famous fashion blog called Style Bubble and there are two or three really interesting pieces, the webmistress has a really particular taste in fashion but I found a couple of things that reminded me of SM....dunno, my imagination really does flies high. Oo!! This first one is just SOOOO BEYOND AMAZING. I love that top shirt dress suit piece artwork!!!!!

Ohhh and how about a complete Nathan Jenden fashion runway with SM lookalike hairstyles?! It's kind of a combination between Usagi and the the 5th witch of the Witches 5, Cyprine/Ptilol. Pretty fun to watch actually.

And at this point, I think it's safe to assume you guys have got the hang on how my brain works, so I'll leave this last image for you guys to ponder over. :)

Wow that's a LONG A$$ post for something that doesn't really have much to do with SM, HAHAHA!!!! Anyway, I loved putting together this post, lots of FUN in this one, letting my Moonie mind wander!

Chat roundup and about the sticker Album

Well, Moonies, Saturday's chat was a blast!! I was expecting to be on 45 minutes, maybe an hour and this thing stretched out for almost FOUR hours!!!! I really could have continued a bit longer but I was getting a bit sleepy. Since it was SO LONG I don't really think I can give a summary, I did give out three points and we talked about a variety of topics including the future of the series and if it will air any time soon, video games, music, toys, fanart...and LOTS MORE!! It was a lot of fun! LEt me see if I remember who was there: Ella, Ramses, Sailor Music, Brad, xXPrettyNekoXx, Senshichan, ThisisHT, Sakki, Shadow, Stephymoon and I know I'm missing two more but I can't, for the life of me, remember who I'm missing. D: !!!

Anyway, I had A GREAT TIME!!! I mean, I don't think I have to say I how much you made me laugh, my room sounded like a laugh track but it was REAL! HAHAHAHAAHhahahaa!..... Here is a screen cap the lovely HT took for me, just so you guys can see what it looked like and under that, is the recorded SECOND half of the chat, we were  already 1:45 hours into the chat when I started recording. It's kind of boring since you can't see what people are talking about in the chatbox...  :)

AAAAnnnnd speaking of videos, two months ago I posted a video where I talked about a certain Sticker Album in my collection and wasn't really sure if I should keep it, sell it, throw it away or give it to someone else. YOU guys decided it's fate and NO ONE thought it would be a good idea to throw it out, actually, the results where kind of unexpected (to me anyway)...

So, not only is it NOT going to the trash can, it's going to another Moonie's home!! The most voted options was "Give it to ME!", of course now, we have a problem: Who will be that lucky "ME"?? D:

I've received a few questions regarding this weekend's Live chat and I believe I wasn't all so clear about it, so I'm going to round up the details for ya!

A new merchandise find, a new excuse why I didn't buy it: I'm saving money. See?? That's my lame excuse. But guys, what is this thing!? I mean, like, it's obviously not a RP transformation brooch, it's not a necklace or a pendant, it's not a lunchbox or a cosplay accessory, it's just a box, maybe a small jewelry box. 

Well, whatever it is, it's absolutely adorable! And it's kind of rare to find Serenity related toys, and this one is such a little treasure, I'd love to know what they were thinking when they designed this.... Oh well! IF I ever see it again, I'll buy it, this time, I had to let it go. u.u

Dream Moon!!

I finally had a chance to look through my files in my old computer and went through my old bookmarks only to find most of my cosplay urls completely obsolete! Aaaww noes!!

But here is an AWESOME rescued one!!

Dream Moon is Japanese Cosplay group that have been apparently inactive for the last 4 years, but these wallpers are SO AWESOME! They truly look like the PGSM artwork and they are very skillfully crafted, every step from the costume production, photography and photoshop post-production.

Their site asks not to repost these, and I normally make sure to link back or ask for permission, but this time, I don't think I'll ever get an answer, so I'll post lo-res versions of their images, but I strongly suggest you go over to Dream Moon and take a look at these in his-res. Granted they aren't active anymore, so there aren't that many pics, but diminish NOT the hard work that is put into their shots. Coolness! :O!!

SM vs. Real Life Volume: 7 - Xilitla Vs. Elysian

 

If you guys remember the video on the right of the blog, where I asked you to speculate why my SM stuff was in boxes, the answer is because I moved (but I think you've figured that already). So, no longer living in Mexico City, I'm now living in Georgia, US.

One of my closest friends told me that before I left, we should both make a trip to an awesome place he discovered. A few days bfore the flight, I was packing, organizing, cleaning and saying my farewells to family and friends, so my friend and I never had a chance to make that trip. I asked him the name of the place and looked it up.

The place is called Xilitla (pronounced He-leet-lah) in the state of San Luis Potosí, a seven-hour drive north of Mexico City. Now the little town itself is just a regular little suburb with the traditional life style but hidden in the mountains is a very special place created by an artist.

In the early 1940s, the poet and surrealist artist Edward James decided that he “wanted a Garden of Eden”. Las Pozas ("the Pools") is a sculpture garden built by James, more than 2,000 feet above sea level, in a tropical rain forest in the mountains of Mexico. It includes more than 80 acres (320,000 m2) of natural waterfalls and pools interlaced with towering Surrealist sculptures in concrete. (via Wiki)

Hmmmm, but I wonder... does this seem Moonesque to anyone else?? Why is it Moonesque, you might wonder. Not sure, I just got this really strong flashback to Elysian, (episode is 165 "When the Crystal Shines! Power of Beautiful Dreams" ) where Helios is apologizing to Prince Endymion (I ♡ Prince Endy, he look so hot in this scene *0*!!) for not being able to fulfill his duty as protector of the Golden Crystal.

See?? Random Columns in a random setting between trees!!!! AW C'MOON!!! TOTALLY MOONESQUE!!

Surely "Las Pozas" in particular didn't influence in any decisions for the anime scenes, but the SM vs. Real Life is about anything that LOOKS Moonesque.

What do you think?? Cool right?? If you don't see the resemblance at all, then just nod along and say "sure, Cycyn, sure" and now we're all happy.  :)
