Between the Lions is a PBS Kids' puppet show designed to promote reading. The show is a co-production between WGBH in Boston and Sirius Thinking, Ltd., in New York City, in association with Jim Henson Television. The show has won seven Daytime Emmy awards between 2001 and 2007. The target audience is children 4 to 7 years old.

Between the Lions often makes wild parodies of (often children's) programming. The title itself is a twofold pun, first on the phrase "between the lines", the second is that many classic library buildings have two lions separated by the main entrance. Thus in order to enter the library, you must go "between the lions". Some recurring segments include:

Little Wendy Tales

A girl with black hair tied in pigtails (a parody of Sailor Moon, among other anime clichés) reads the misadventures found in Little Wendy Tales when sitting next to her white cat Snuggles. In classic fashion, the big-eyed girl transforms herself into The Punctuator and saves Wendy by means of switching around the punctuation, altering the scene in the process. She rereads the altered adventures after correcting the sentences.

So sorry that this video isn't complete, but it's virtually THE ONLY video of this mini episode in the ENTIRE world wide web. (EDIT: HT found the second half of it!).The super lovely and awesome Moonie HT remembered about this little parody and it took us a while but we found this vid. There isn't much info available and as much as I would LOVE to show you more of this and write up a whole essay on the origins of this animation, it's really not a big deal, just a small parody....and that's all!! :p

Tokyo Brass Style Sailor Moon salsa+jazz!?!

WHOA! I love these random finds! Maybe most of you have heard this band before, it's a first time for me and it has a strange mix between salsa style of music and a bit of jazz almost at the end of Moonlight Densetsu, pretty fun to listen to!

OMG NOEESSSS!!!!!!! I'm a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE art student and an even WORSE MOONIE!!

You guys!!!!  I BARELY noticed this..... Why!!?!? It's such a slap on my FACE!! I mean, Alphonse is such a huge influence on me and so is Sailor Moon...How could I not see this?? IT'S A DOUBLE SLAP!!

Alphonse Mucha's "Reverie"

Look at the purty knocked-off dress!!!!! This dress appears on episode 85 "The Shocking Future! Demand's Dark Ambition" and of course it's a rip-off, Alphonse created it over a century before. I really like the anime added wing thingies though... purtyness!

Now I AM aware that there is a bunch of other Alphonse Mucha inspired SM work, like these down here and a bunch of others, but the one on top, I had never realized before, that's why I'm all in shock. XD!

Anyway.... back to studying.

I had planned to post some pics of the fabulous Sakki's colletion but both MoonKittynet and xXPrettyNekoXx beat me to it, so, FAIL!!!! Still love Sakki though. Aaaalalalalala~!!!!

The New Cosmic Order.

After re-reading Chibi Jen's "PLUTO, NO LONGER A PLANET" comic over at Moonsticks (LAWWWL) I started thinking about this whole Planet mess.

"OMG!!! WHAT NOW!? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!?! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN!? and most importantly WHAT WILL BE THE FATE OF OH POOR SAILOR PLUTO!?! HOW WILL WE EVER WIN A BATTLE AGAINST OUTER SPACE ENEMIES WITH ONE LESS SOLDIER?!"

First off....CALM DOWN!!!!! *slap! slap! slap! slap!*

If you sit down and drink a cup o' tea I can explain...

As I said, this isn't news, it's sooo 2005 (or whatever year it was determined), but you see Moonies, I often daydream about making my own Sailor Moon Movie or my own Sailor Moon Live action series and I daydream of who would be Usagi, how she would look, what her voice should be like, same for Rei, same for Amy and the rest of the gang, but I always get stuck with Sailor Pluto, since she's "not part of the traditional senshis" anymore, but it's not really that Pluto isn't a planet anymore, it's just in a different classification, it's a DWARF PLANET, meaning it doesn't gather all the specifications it must have in order to be classified as a "planet", according to NatGeo :

A planet must orbit the sun, it must not be a satellite, it must be massive enough for it's own gravity to keep it round,  and big enough to dominate it's own orbit. Pluto falls short in the last requirement along with the asteroid Ceres and Eris. Other candidates are still pending, Dwarf Planets beyond Neptune will be given a special category yet untitled but Pluto is the prototype.

Other dwarves are called Haumea and Makemake, and who knows how many others...So, I guess this means that, yes, 8 planets and....

Okay...See? Now it's all effed up!!!! OMG!!! WHAT NOW!? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!?! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN!?!?!?!???? Okay now I'M the one in need of a cup o' tea...

So what's the solution here Moonies? Do we loose a Senshi?? Do we gain Sailor Pluto, a Sailor Ceres (aka CereCere) and Sailor Eris as "Minor Soldiers"? And what about all the pending ones? How many are there? OMG....!!! *stressed out* I need air....

Sailor Moon hairstyle cuteness!

How can this Sailor Moon hairstyle tutorial video have only 1200 views!?! I've seen far worse low quality videos with five times more hits!!! This girl is SOOOO CUTE and adorable, and I can actually picture Usagi looking like this girl, about the same age, roundish face, blond and her hairstyle is one of the best tutorials I've seen in a while!

Maybe it's not a big deal, but I'm real excited that I found this video!

Pepinova's Custom Senshis!!

And here we have yet another fabulous custom doll maker!! Wow they just keep getting better!! Pepinova is SOOO talented, such a skilled paint job of these dolls! The details on the faces are gorgeous and the rerooting is flawless. GAH!! where do people learn how to do this?? I'm pretty sure the clothing of these dolls are from the Irwin dolls, but they fit nicely on these fully articulated dolls.  Wow, I love Rei's hands in this, like the ACTUAL "Akuryou Taisan" pose.
