General Audience fun.

While most normal people are totally unaware that the SM fandom is still out there and getting stronger than ever, it never ceases to amaze me how deeply Sailor Moon is imprinted onto the minds of the general audience. I've been searching out Moonie stuff on the web almost on a daily basis for more that 5 years (N00b compared to some of my fave blogs) and I always come up with pages of people who immediately relate sailor suits, short skirts, boots or ponytails back to our heroine. I think this is absolutely flattering. REALLY! It shows that SM really is out there the mass' psyche!!

This post is really unimportant, btw. xD!

I've gathered here a small collection of screen caps of other sites that have found SM-sailor neck, marine theme and short skirt similaties and posted them.

I think this last uniform is the most popular kind of *actual* school uniform there is in Japan, or at least I saw a bunch of these, so it's no surprise that one reminded of SM, but the rest are...well, weird. XD! It's still fun to find these out there...

Oh and I'm very very sorry if you were interested in the links to these pages... I have no links this time since they are just random screen caps I make as I navigate though the interwebs... u.u

Anyway, You GO Sailor Moon!!

Etsy

If you follow me on my personal twitter, you might notice that I mostly talk about my two obsessions: Taylor OMFGHAWT Lautner and my latest obsession: ETSY!

Ebay is just sooo out of reach for me and a source of constant frustration, so I have drifted into safer waters. Not that Etsy isn't expensive too, but Ebay is like a constant race to get official goodies, even more so if it's a really coveted item. Does this only frustrate me? The fact that I feel like I have to fight for the goods that are actually second hand items and end up paying so much?! I mean, yes, sure, the price for being an obsessed collector, I get it and accept it. But then you must also add the fact that it's also under a time limit, it's just sometimes not fun anymore.

On Etsy I really don't feel the pressure, since none of it is official, I won't feel like I have to kick other moonies out of the way, pay too much or I can even come back a few weeks later when I actually have some money and the item will still be available! Just writing that makes me feel better already! XD

Now I know that there are plenty of fake items out there, probably not a good thing to buy counterfeit in the spirit of supporting the producers and whatnot, but original stuff has been out of print for years! Plus there are some items that cannot be found official, like these Sailor Moon and Tux Kamen rubber duckies!! X3333

I think I've touched my point over and over. I like Etsy. Here are some of my fave finds:

First find .... Latex Sailor Moon costume! Maybe not as AWESOME as that SM hoodie I blogged about some months ago, but pretty fun...or...Kinky? or... smelly? Lawl.

Or how about a cosplay... for you teddy bear!? AWwwwww.... x33

or a super cute custom made Luna

or this tattoo style necklace (sold)

finally a charm bracelet

God! I am ALL them. XD!

Happy THIRD anniversary, SMOBSS!!!

Every new SMOBSS year I feel like it's been 5 years, kind like dog years... the blog would be 15 y/o if it were true! I made a simple image this time, no wallpaper but hopefully this dynamic albeit excessively over-saturated photo won't burn your retinas XD.

I normally write down a list of accomplishments and new sections I opened in the course of this year, but sadly, no new features were added, which doesn't mean I wasn't doing anything, the existing features kept me kind of busy! Also I held the blog's first give away (video will be up in a few more hours) and produced a few pieces of fanart. So overall I HAD FUN! I hope you guys did too!!

And now, this is where I list the things I expect to complete for the next year:

-Layout change! It looks a bit crowded, I'll try to re-organize and maintain cleanness.

-More fan art. I really dropped the ball this last year, I produced a few wallpapers and photographs, but I really want to step up my game and make MORE and BETTER stuff.

-Networking. Since I spend most of my Moonie time either drawing, browsing, writing or collecting, I have really left behind some things, like ChibiJen's Moonsticks, so not only will I help put as I promised, I will keep up. Also many of you have blogs and sites, I must get back on track commenting and visiting since I really appreciate that you do this for the SMObss.

-Get some MENTAL help. Or is my level of obsession healthy? LAWL.

-Buy the rights to Sailor Moon and produce my own Live Action show with kick-ass motion graphics, incredible soundtrack, change the way a show is produced, take actors beyond their comfort zone, create a new kind of visual experience, produce multiple kinds of merchandising like toys, photo books, cards, apparel, lunch boxes and antenna balls, win a couple of Emmys and make a movie version and eventually open a theme park. And then I wake up AND get that mental help we were just talking about...

Anyway, notably absent from the list is the so-called VLOG and PODCAST. Moonies, I'll be honest with ya. The SMObss won't be as active anymore, I will continue to post once in a while but maybe once or twice a month if I find anything worth posting. I could give you all the reasons but I suppose you aren't really interested. I will continue my fanart and random little videos once in a while, it's not like I'm closing the blog or anything, so don't freak out! xD

I must, as usual acknowledge all the supportive comments, the interesting links and the unconditional friendship you have given me through all the difficult times and long absences, you have no idea how you have saved my life and my soul. I can't thank you enough. Thank you for your support and allowing the Sailor Moon Obsession blog to have a THIRD anniversary!!!! THANK YOU MOONIES!

And finally, I need to throw tomatoes to MKnet, he TOTALLY STOLE MY ANNIVERSARY THUNDER!!!!!!! (Just kiddin'! Happy 11th anniversary to MKNET!!!  It would be like 55 in dog years xD!)

Mini Graduating Korean Moons x3

Normally for little posts like this one, I usually just link on twitter, or include it at the bottom of a post, but I kind of though it was TOO CUTE to let it go so low profile! Futhermore, there are a few things I'd like to point out:

These are pictures from Kris' blog about her adventures teaching English to children at a school in Korea, at this point, she is describing the graduation of her kids who apparently made a Sailor Moon play but...

*Number one: How does Kris know about Sailor Moon? Maybe she kind of remembers the show from back then but that brings me to...

*Number Two: How do these children know about Sailor Moon? Aren't they too small to have watched it on TV? Or were the rights in Asia cancelled later on? Or is it STILL on TV in Korea?

*Number Three: They are making the Moon pose! Why are they familiar with it?!

*Number Four: Where did they ALL get these costumes?! They appear to have been made by the same person/company.

*Number Five: I'm sure the parents were in on this too because they sent their kids to school like this, so... how'd they get the parents involved!?

*Number Six: How AWESOME is it that EVEN THE BOYS are dressed up!?(rhetorical  question, needs no answer, it's just AWESOME!)

*Number Seven: Kris mentions they were dressed up because it was their graduation... It's still kind of confusing though, what's the thinking behind this concept? -"Oh, let's dress up as Sailor Moon for our graduation play!"...... oO!?

Still adorable!

Ohhh and *Number Eight: Where can I get one of those boys dressed up and making a RAWR position!? I WANT ONE!! So cute X3!!!! Kris' blog entry is HERE.
