A (very late) New Year Wallpaper xD!

Wow, January 31st already!!? This was due a month ago! Ugggh... -_-

If you have been following the SMObss twitter account, you might remember I posted a preview of this drawing WAY BACK in October. It has taken me TWO MONTHS to complete this drawings (I did not work on it over the holidays). Seriously? two months? WTF!? was I drawing with a single finger? I dunno why it took so long, all I remember was asking myself "Am I done yet?.... Am I done yet?.... How about now?... AND NOWWW???? AAARRRGGHHH!!!!". Then the face kept coming out weird, I vented out about the face on Twitter. The eyes were a HUGE problem, they looked crossed. You know what the problem was? I used a photo of Paris Hilton as a guide for the position. OOoo. Bad idea. xD!!!

So yeah, obviously when I finally finished the main figure, I had no interest in engaging in another battle of will by creating a complex background, specially since I just finished this LAST NIGHT and there's real life out there in a few hours, so sorry about the lameness of the background u.u....

Anyway. New wallpaper for the new year, 99% vectors. Why did I choose to work in vectors? That was stupid. Well, no so much, I practiced a lot, but AAAaarrGGHhhh!!!!... 

Sorry for this awkward post, I'm just so glad it's DONE. Hope you guys enjoy it, and do me a favor: If you don't like to comment, at least gimme your reaction (cool, cute, wtf, etc...),  it'd be cool to know what you guys are diggin' (and what not).

You know what I love? Sailor Moon. You know what else I love? Art. So Sailor Moon fan art is like "crème de la crème" of all artworks produced! HAHAhaa!!

Seriously, I love fanart. Dedicated fanartists I love the most, and Jared here is one hell of an addicted Moonie! I randomly stumbled upon his blog as I searched for artist sites. He is a full-time illustrator/designer who enjoys exploring in digital media and tries to achieve realism. I think I'm in LURVE already!!! Realism FTW!!! In the last drawing posted you can really appreciate all the details he has to work on to achieve de realistic look.

For some *awesome* reason, Jared had a wave of inspiration and begun drawing Sailor Moon. I think I understand him perfectly. Once you start drawing Moonie stuff it becomes somewhat addictive. Lemme quote him:

"I’ll stop saying I’m done painting fanart of the character because clearly I’m lying. For some reason, I’m just having a really good time re-imagining Usagi, so maybe I should just keep painting her until it’s out of my system."

Other fanartist and I have said this SOOOO many times!! I still find myself picking up a pencil wanting to draw a spaceship and end up with the Odagoed girl. HAha!

Anyway, Jared is all kinds of cool. His experiments are quite interesting, and if the senshi suits weren't short and sexy enough, he manages to push them a bit further. ;D!

Introducing: Moonie Tunes Podcast!

Ohai SMObss PODCAST! 

There were rumors about you spoken by the Gods before time was time, the whimsical winds whispered to the mighty mountains about your existence, and elder tribal members tell stories around the fire about this so called "podcast" that they heard from their grandfathers, that heard it from their grandfathers, that heard it from their grandfathers too, but you remained as elusive as Bigfoot, as secretive as Area 51 and as imaginary as Sparkly Vampires. But here you are!! Fuckin' FINALLY!

So many things are happening in the Moonie fandom, both officially and non-officially. In this first Podcast, we present the show, the origins of the name, introduction of the hosts and we talk about the things that are happening. Plus we're both pretty air-headed, so there's a buch of giggling going on too. XDD!

Now remember Moonies, this is not a news report or anything, it's just me and Eku coming together and talking about Sailor Moon stuff, just as we would if we were hanging out at a house, lounging on the sofa. Just roll with it, grab a cup o' tea and enjoy!

Oh also as a side note, this was recorded in late November which is why the topics may seem a bit old, next podcast WILL be more current. Further discussions or opinions on our first show can be posted in the comment section. You can also make topic suggestions for the next one.
