INGURISHU SEERAA MUN.

Hey Moonsters!

First some SMObss related news. Over the weekend, the blog reached 100 000 hits and 100 followers. Not a big deal, but I was happy nonetheless. It means I'm not alone in my obsessiveness and after these *almost* four years, I have come to know and love many of you, and love is a good thing... right? Sailor Moon does fights LOVE it after all. xDDD!!

Also, in other blog-related news, Brad from Moonkitty.net and I have created a pretty fun relationship. We've always messaged back and forth before, but the more I followed his tweets and FB statuses, the more I liked him, our views on Moonies stuff as well as *real world* issues seemed to coincide a lot. So we have become really close . Or so I'd like to think. Point being, he happened to have a domain name laying around in his apartment and so he so was generous and amazing and give it to the SMObss!!

So now we have a more awesomererer site url:

www.sailormoon-obsession.com
it's so purtyyy!!

Many thanks to Bradie and also all you incredible Moonies who time after time, bear with all my nonesense. All 100 000 of you. Here, have some "Pink Sugar Heart Attack" ♡♡♡♡♡♡!!

Now, back to your regularly scheduled Moonie post:

===============================================

Well, this was an unusual find. After making that post about the new Italian game "La Luna Splende" a few weeks ago, I decided to make quick investigation of other Sailor Moon games out there. Sure enough, I found a bunch!! Sailor Moon really went all-out in its heyday! Makes me smile that we are part of it all. Apparently the fan favorite is Another Story :O!!

There are all kinds of SM games, but I didn't look into them much, until I stumbled upon Seera Muun to Hajimete no Eigo!!! (First time English with Sailor Moon). O...kay... All together now:

AWKWAAARRRDDDDDddddd.......

Teaching us English Sailor Moon? Really? REEAALLLYYY??? I mean, "Reinboo Muun Haato Eikku", "Muun Gojyasu Mediteeshon", and "Sutaaraitto Haneimuun Serapii Kisu" don't exactly count as ENGLISH. HAhahahaa! xD!

We all know Usagi was never the greatest bilingual character, in fact, she repeatedly lets us know she can't speak English at all, she leaves it to Mamoru or Amy, so you'd think that in this game/learning program she'd try to learn some English, right?

Well, no. She'll leave that up to the user. XD!!

What caught my attention here was that anime and voice overs were created for this, like, ACTUAL anime, not moving pixels. I never saw any of these videos before, so seeing "new" animated stuff (not new, just recently discovered by me) is pretty exciting! The game takes us on day adventures with the girls, for example, Usagi in her room, where you can choose her clothes according to the season and learn "coat" "shirt" and "skirt", or you can also stop by Makoto's apartment where she teaches us the English words for food and kitchen utensils. The original cast does all the voice-overs, in Japanese though, however, none of them actually try to speak English even though they should. The videos ARE kinda TEDIOUS, but I still sat through them 'cause they're adorable.

If you DON'T want to watch them all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you watch at least the LAST one. They have an "alternate" transformation sequence. It's not as elaborated as the TV version, but hey, I take what I can get.

MUST WATCH.

Anyway, just a fun little find. ChibiUsa, for once, is actually pretty cute. D'Awwww!!! :3
Did you guys know about this game? Which one is YOUR fave SM game?

Guess that episode!!! Take 6.

The game goes like this:

I will look up a random image from a random episode. ANY episode ANY season (it'll be from The Oracle's image base, just 'cause it so awesome). What you have to do is easy: GUESS THE EPISODE.

You must provide as much info as possible:

EXAMPLE:
"Sailor Moon SS; Episode 130 - Protect Mom's Dream! Use the New Deadly Weapons of Double Moon; Characters: Ikuko, Hawk's Eye; Scene - Hawk's Eye is trying to make Ikuko think she is his long lost mother Monster names MUST be included (if specified).

I wrote that large, because sometimes Moonies rush into telling me the episode and forget the description. If the info is not complete, it won't count. :(

So, are you ready??

Here we go!!!!

================================================

Guess that episode!! Take - 6.

You kids have fun! :D!

DVDs de Sailor Moon en Español!

Sorry Moonies, this post is in Spanish.
Here, look at a cool video here.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

¡¡ME ROMPEN MI BURBUJITA!! Dx

AAAAALALALALlaalalalalalalalaa!!!!!

Después de todo lo que se vive en la serie, nos damos cuenta de que el universo es realmente enorme y complejo, que existe bien y el mal, la luz y la obscuridad. Que existen cosas mágicas y extrañas las cuales ni nos imaginamos y asi como las Starlights, hay distantes estrellas, planetas, y galaxias desconocidas que ocultan hermosos mundos nuevos. Que el amor de Darien por ella sea mas grande que todo lo que hay dentro del Universo, es una metáfora súmamente poderosa. ¡Mejor aun que la version original! ¡Que HERMOSOOOO! ;_;

UPDATE: Interesante video. Que emoción! :D

Bueno ya. Fin.

M°OnieTunes - Episode 4!

Hello again LUNAtics!!

This month has been CRAY-CRAY for the SMObss, and we're barely halfway though the month! It's a bit early for the next M°OnieTunes episode, we normally wait 'till the last weekend so we can gather our news and topics, but this is a special episode!

Bradie joins in the conversation this time and we went OVERBOARD!! FOR TWO HOURS. Well, almost. We just went on and on and on. We talk everything from the Anime, Sera-Myu, PGSM, April fool's, websites and a bunch of other things, really, it was so much fun! I hope you guys enjoy it, I had to cut down some parts, it gets tiring to listen a conversation between two people and not being able to jump in and add your point of view, but I've been told there are podcasts that go on for three hours! So I guess we're SAFE. I think. In any case, you're more than welcome to post a comment and if you'd like to join in some time, drop me an e-mail! I believe that compression issues this time made the volume really low, so you'll have to turn it up to the MAX.

Now, Without further ado, M°OnieTunes Episode 004!!

Remember Moonies, this is not a news report or anything, it's just Brad and I coming together and talking about Sailor Moon stuff, just as we would if we were hanging out at a house, lounging on the sofa. Just roll with it, grab a cup o' tea and enjoy! Don't forget to mark your reaction (cool, cute, OMGWTF, etc) so we can know how we're doing. ;)

Love,

Brad and Cycyn

we talk about after the jump!

La Luna Splende

Well, we finally have an official trailer for "La Luna Splende" Sailor Moon DS Game! I haven't really been too vocal about this news which is definitely very important in the Moonie community, I mean, really, it's not everyday we get a Sailor Moon game, right?

Turns out, I'm really not a gamer. Never was. I played Final Fantasy VIII..... once!! HAHAHahaha! So I can't really say I was over the Moon (pun intended) about the DS game coming out. And then stills and synopsis came out and it just made me "meh" even more.

Our friends over at MoonChase were the first ones to receive and review it. They are currently working on a guide on how to beat the game and hopefully they will bring us more screen caps as well.

Now, after watching this official trailer, while I enjoy the music reminiscent of "Moonlight Densetsu", and I certainly can appreciate some new animation and imagery, I remained somewhat unimpressed. I was like: "Ohhh look at that! Time travel!!! It's 1998 again!!". Granted, all DS games look like this, but srsly... isn't it like 2011 already?? Plus it's not like we need a massive Final Fantasy-esque RPG with realistic graphics, orchestrated soundtrack and other packaged goods (although it would certainly be any Moonie's dream), but it seems unfair that other anime like Dragon Ball and Eva have had remakes and much higher quality video-games.

This feels like.... like.... like when you're craving something so, so much. Like an apple. You're craving an big, round, sweet, crunchy, juicy apple and you've waited a long time to get one and all you receive is "apple flavored" gum.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!  TT.TT

The Game makers are not entirely at fault here, they did the best with what they were given the opportunity to make (I'm sure they had strict guidelines concerning story line and canon) and they had to whip out this game pretty fast, what with the tight deadline ( I believe the anime is up to Sailor Moon SuperS in Italy, which means they're moving fairly quickly), they had to develop it so it would still be relevant. So, I guess it's good we even got SOMETHING. But no, I won't be rushing out to buy a DS and play this game. I'm glad things are being produced though.

Here is some footage of the game taken by Saunders 316 if you're curious.

So what about you guys? Are you a gamer? Are you curious enough to buy this game? If you have gotten it already, was it worth the wait? Worth the money?( I understand it's around 70 dollars at this point, but the price might go down soon)  What would you like to see in a Sailor Moon game??

SM vs. Real Life Volume: 8 - Pink vs Ginger.

Alright. We have a new Sm vs. Real life post here, where I mostly compare elements from the Sailor Moon manga and anime, to places or situations in real life. FUN! And If you know me, I tend to think about random stuff.

This time I was wondering why ChibiUsa's hair is pink. I know anime doesn't really preoccupy itself with realism details, in fact, it bluntly laughs in the face of naturalism and logic. So my wondering about a character's hair color is quite pointless. Why is Amy's hair blue? Why is Setsuna's dark-greenish? Why is Michiru's turquoise? I don't think there is a real answer to any of these questions. Maybe because those are the character's representative colors, maybe because of the color of their birthstone, or simply to tell them apart from one another since they basically all look alike.

Whatever the reason, I started to put things together in my mind and I think I may be on to something here Moonies!! (just nod along in false agreement) xD! I won't go into explanations, the pics speak for themselves. :p

I wanted more pics, but I can't think of any other famous
gingers whose parents are blond/brunette xDD!!

So what do you guys think?? Is ChibiUsa's pink hair color some kind of interpretation or visual euphemism for red hair?? I know, I know... red-head gene is recessive, it jumps between generations, blah blah blah, but we know nothing about Usagi's ancestors, only her mother, so it's hard to describe how the genes are moving around in this family... o.O!

So go ahead, speculate away Moonies! XD

Magical Girl Chart! :D!

It's all just for fun. Gotta admit, the are a bunch of archetypes in female heroes, specially the ones I pointed out. Of course other magical girls like "Magic Knight Rayearth" or "Jem" have certain similar traits, but they mostly have their own thing going on. I stuck to these four characters because their features seem to resonate the most with each other.

I'm sure there are mistakes in my magical chart thingie, you can go ahead and point them out (with research of course, don't just say "THAT'S WRONG!") but I did Google-check almost all facts. ;)

Anyway.

SAILOR MOON FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
